Responsibilities

• Execute clinical care under RN guidance by performing specialized therapeutic services and laboratory tests within your scope to keep the unit’s 16 beds running smoothly.
• Support patient safety and well-being by contributing to continuous assessments and monitoring for adverse reactions to treatments or medications.
• Administer medications with precision, ensuring every patient receives their prescribed treatment safely and on schedule.
• Empower patients and families for success by providing clear education on self-care, holistic health needs, and post-discharge resources to ensure a smooth transition home.
  
  

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  
  

Education

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

8 East is a 16 bed Med/Surg unit. Our nurses have developed a strong work culture of kindness, great teamwork, acceptance, and fostering education whenever we can! The population we serve is a wide variety of diagnoses and clinical pathways including: AKI, ETOH Withdrawal, AMS/Falls, Sepsis, DKA, & surgical patients (GI, GU, OB-GYN, Basic Ortho and Neuro, Podiatry) and that is only scratching the surface.
